Oscars 2010 – Zoe Saldana in Givenchy

Zoe Saldana wearing a purple Givenchy Spring 2010 Couture strapless gown

Rating: ★★★★★

Zoe Saldana, you made me not regret staying up late to watch the Oscars! OMG! Doesn’t she look absolutely spectacular? You know I love me some purple and dear God Zoe totally knocked it out of the ballpark. Her strapless ruffled Givenchy Couture gown was risqué yet timeless and Zoe’s smile is the best accessory to compliment her stunning jeweled dress. Definitely a strong contender for Best Dressed. Let’s see if someone can outdo Zoe in the style department.

16th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards – Best Dressed

by Profashionelle on January 24, 2010 · 0 comments

Kate Hudson in Emilio Pucci Spring 2010, Diane Kruger in Jason Wu, Christina Applegate in Roberto Cavalli, Anna Paquin in Alexander McQueen Spring 2010, Lea Michele in Catherine Malandrino Spring 2010, Anna Kendrick in Alberta Ferretti, Marion Cotillard in Elie Saab Fall 2009 Couture & Sandra Bullock in Alexander McQueen at the 2010 SAG Awards

Yesterday at the 2010 SAG Awards I first saw Kate Hudson in her beautiful white backless Emilio Pucci gown and she just blew me away. So much that I almost forgot she had already picked a white gown for the 2010 Golden Globes last week. But she looked too angelic for me to bother.

Diane Kruger is always so flawless it’s almost boring! For me, she was the best dressed last night in her mustard fitted off-the-shoulder Jason Wu gown. Her dress instantly reminded me of Michelle Williams Vera Wang gown at the Oscars in 2006. No one can do old Hollywood glamour like Diane. Perfection!

Christina Applegate is always hit and miss on the red carpet, but on this ocassion she was simply breath-taking in a gorgeous dusty blue Roberto Cavalli chiffon gown. Perfectly accessorized, Christina was definitely among my top 3 for best dressed last night.

Anna Paquin was one of the few who rather opted for a short frock. Her printed plunge neck dress was from Alexander McQueen’s spectacular Spring 2010 collection and Anna did the dress more than justice.

I always love to see green on the red carpet, it’s such a flattering yet underappreciated color! Fortunately, Lea Michele was brave enough to don this emerald green plunge neck column gown by Catherine Malandrino. Simply stunning!

Anna Kendrick wore a fuchsia strapless Alberta Ferretti ruffle gown. She may be new to the red carpet game, but she’s already acting like a pro. Love it!

Isn’t it refreshing to see Marion Cotillard in something other than Dior? Don’t get me wrong, I love Christian Dior as much as anybody else, but over time Marion’s red carpet looks became stale and predictable. I was hoping for a sexier look this time and it seems like the fashion gods answered my prayers. Marion’s white crystal embellished feathered frock from Elie Saab’s Fall 2009 Couture collection was a mixture of diva meets revue dancer. Magnifique, Marion!

Sandra Bullock‘s dress choice was more understated than her purple stand-out gown at the Globes, but that didn’t stop her from being once again a stunner in a black keyhole Alexander McQueen gown looking all classy and statuesque.

Who was the best dressed at the 2010 SAG Awards?

Rose Byrne – 67th Annual Golden Globe Awards

Rose Byrne in an eggplant strapless Lanvin Pre-Fall 2010 gown at the 67th Annual Golden Globe Awards

Rating: ★★★★½

Whenever I see Rose Byrne strut the red carpet an aura of fragility and shyness is surrounding her. She’s like a precious porcelain doll! I think that’s why I find her and whatever she wears so very intriguing. On this occasion Rose wore an elegant eggplant Lanvin column gown which had a brooch attached to the waist. The color is royal on her! I just wish she’d smile a little more often.

Rating: ★★★★½

My first WOW! moment at this year’s Golden Globe Awards goes out to the lovely Sandra Bullock. Sandra wore a gorgeous royal purple strapless gown by Bottega Veneta from their Spring 2010 collection. I also love her beautiful drop earrings and the purple looks just delicious against Sandra’s brunette locks. LOVE. LOVE. LOVE!

The lovely Diane Kruger attended the Cocktail Reception and Preview of Jason Wu Spring 2010 Collection 2 days ago looking astonishing in a green and black polka dotted one shoulder draped dress from mentioned collection which she completed with champagne Roger Vivier satin sandals and a black Hunting Season clutch. I’m in love with how soft and feminine Diane looks here.
