Miranda Cosgrove – Cute & Sparkly Miranda Cosgrove was the biggest surprise last night for me because I really didn’t expect her to be dressed so well and outdo a lot of the big names who were also in attendance. But her cute metallic mini dress was the perfect choice and the silver Louboutin booties add some pizzazz. Well done, Miranda!
Leighton Meester – Futuristic Fashion Maven Leighton Meester is always trying something new on the red carpet and you gotta love her for keeping things interesting. On this occasion she did not disappoint by wearing a shimmering silver Christian Cota Fall 2009 mini dress which she paired with white embellished cut-out booties by Giuseppe Zanotti.
Amerie – Vivid Colors! Amerie was one of the few who opted for some color on the red carpet and I really appreciate this. The singer wore a turquoise mini dress which had some sort of a cape thing on the back. Black patent Louboutin pumps and a spikey ankle chain completed her red carpet look.
Taylor Swift – Delicious Diva Taylor Swift was by far the most elegantly dressed at the VMAs. The songstress wore an asymmetrical, sequinned floor-length gown by Kaufman Franco and added bold red lips to complete the diva look. She was really beautiful, but I can’t help but feel like I’ve seen this look on Taylor many times before. I hope she will mix things up for future award shows.
Keri Hilson – Sexy Vixen Keri Hilson impressed in a sleek sexy jumpsuit which had a deep plunging neckline. She finished off her look with big chandelier earrings and black patent YSL Trib Two pumps. Love it!
Shakira – Balmainia! Shakira and Pink had a fashion oops! moment at the VMAs as both were wearing the same strapless Balmain leather dress. Shakira seems to be quite the fashionista as she also incorporated the thigh high boots trend into her ensemble.

Amber Rose – WTF? A python printed spandex jumpsuit? Really? Can you say attention whore?
Amanda Bynes – Yawn.com OMG, Amanda Bynes must be the most predictable, unimiganitive starlet to roam the red carpet. I guess we will rather see the world go under than Amanda taking a risk or changing her dress code formula.
Beyoncé Knowles – Too Tight Beyoncé overuses the too tight, too sexy card. I’m starting to get extremely bored by all the almost non-existant clothes she’s been wearing lately. Sasha Fierce? Yeah, whatever.
Ashley Greene – Color Coordination Mishap Ashley Greene is a beautiful girl, but on this occasion she looks like a hillbilly going to prom. Black bustier, gold skirt, white clutch, printed shoes? Color harmony is burning in hell right now. Oh – and the hair does not fit either.
Adrienne Bailon – Pyjama Party? Adrienne Bailon’s yellow printed longsleeve dress is seriously looking like something I own that I wear to bed. It would never come to my mind to wear such an atrocious, silly thing to a red carpet event. Even the kick-ass black Balmain buckle boots can’t save that dress disaster.
Jennifer Lopez – Maybe Next Time Jennifer Lopez’ red carpet style is always hit and miss for me. On this occasion she just can’t convince me in her tea rose Louis Vuitton strapless dress. The separate sleeves look ridiculous and the black Louboutins – though gorgeous alone – destroy the femininity of the ensemble.
FYI: I purposely did not put up Lady GaGa on this list because it’s pretty obvious that she didn’t dress to impress. The same cannot be said about the above listed celebrities.
