Oscars 2008 - Best Dressed

Marion Cotillard

Marion Cotillard in Jean Paul Gaultier Spring 2008 Couture - 80th Annual Academy Awards 2008

Best Actress winner Marion Cotillard blowed me away in this stunning ivory mermaid-esque gown. Chopard jewels and Sergio Rossi shoes finished off this beautiful red carpet ensemble.

Though I hoped Cate Blanchett would win the Oscar for Best Actress, after Marion’s acceptance speech I was totally in love with the French actress. She was just wonderful.

Anne Hathaway

Anne Hathaway in Marchesa Fall 2008 - 80th Annual Academy Awards 2008

Anne Hathaway was a vision of red carpet perfection glowing in a fire-red one-shouldered dress and sparkling with Harry Winston jewels.

Love the rose detailed one-shoulder strap. Anne completely cured herself from any previous Oscars fashion disasters. Gotta love it, right?

Penélope Cruz

Penélope Cruz in Chanel Couture - 80th Annual Academy Awards 2008

Penélope Cruz was a feast for the eyes wearing a stunning navy, feather-trimmed Chanel Haute Couture gown. She finished off her look with beautiful Chopard jewelry. I especially fell in love with her ruby and diamond earrings. Lovely!

Penélope’s make-up & hair is simply fantastic this year, I love it & definitely prefer this look compared to the one she sported last year at the Oscars.

Rating: ★★★★½

Katherine Heigl

Katherine Heigl in Escada - 80th Annual Academy Awards 2008

WOW! Katherine Heigl deserves an award for the most daring color here. She stunned everyone in an asymmetrical racy red silk georgette Escada column gown. She topped off her look with matching red lipstick, Ryan Ryan jewelry, a silver clutch & shoes (both Jimmy Choo).

Loving the old school glamour make-up & hair!

Rating: ★★★★½

Jennifer Garner

Jennifer Garner in Oscar de la Renta - 80th Annual Academy Awards 2008

I really loved Jennifer Garner’s amazing black silk taffetta Oscar de La Renta fishtail dress and the Van Cleef & Arpels vintage necklace just knocked me off my socks. Clutch by Roger Vivier.

I also loved Jennifer’s messy updo… but only from the side. If you see it from the front the streaks hide too much of her face.

14th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards 2008 - Celebrity Red Carpet Fashion

Amanda Bynes

Amanda Bynes - SAG Awards 2008

Amanda Bynes was picture perfect in a stunning teal blue embellished strapless gown.

A perfect red carpet moment for Amanda and she definitely managed to stand out between all the big ladies. This is the best I’ve seen Amanda look so far and I hope she stays on that course fashion wise in 2008.

P.S.: I cannot tell you how much I adore Amanda’s do. She looks like a gorgeous fairy tale princess. Pure perfection & my red carpet favorite yet.

Ashley Tisdale

Ashley Tisdale - SAG Awards 2008

Ashley Tisdale looks very grown up and sophisticated in this beautiful white floor-length gown. Maybe it’s the new nose which makes her look so different here, but I think I also like her hair here.

She still needs to learn how to strike a good pose though.

Rating: ★★★½☆

Eva Longoria

Eva Longoria - SAG Awards 2008

For someone as petite as Eva Longoria floor-length gowns aren’t easy to pull off, but the Desperate Housewives star does it with grace as per usual.

At this year’s SAGs Eva was giving us some old Hollywood glamour wearing a sexy ice white gown which gave us a pretty good sight on her fully-exposed back.

But the real deal about Eva’s look are her dazzling Verdura earrings if you ask me. Dramatic!

Kate Beckinsale

Kate Beckinsale - SAG Awards 2008

Kate Beckinsale was a glowing beauty in this lemon yellow strapless satin gown. She accesorized her shiny appearance with Van Cleef & Arpels jewelry.

Kate surely knows how to work the red carpet. I love the color of the dress and it’s a pleasant change to finally see some daring hues on the red carpet. Kate explains her color choice:

“It’s such a miserable day here I thought I’d bring a little sunshine.”

Rating: ★★★★☆

Marcia Cross

Marcia Cross - SAG Awards 2008

Marcia Cross turned heads by wearing a simply darn gorgeous teal strapless floor-length gown. The dazzling contrast between the color of the dress and Marcia’s shiny red hair is fierce.

Marcia complemented her draping frock with jewels from Lorraine Schwartz.

Marion Cotillard

Marion Cotillard - SAG Awards 2008

Marion Cotillard was another red carpet favorite of mine wearing an amazing corseted, pleated and gathered strapless gown with Chopard jewelry.

Also thumbs up for Marion wearing her hair up; this was the best decision she could make for this dress. This cloudy grey gown needs space to make a bold statement.

The only downside of Marion’s getup was the color of the dress - it was a tad boring.

Rating: ★★★★☆

Michelle Pfeiffer

Michelle Pfeiffer - SAG Awards 2008

The age defying Michelle Pfeiffer chose to look absolutely fabulous by wearing a brownish monochrome cocktail dress. The dress is a bit of an understatement for such a big ceremony as the SAG Awards, but she makes it work for her.

Michelle finished off her look by pairing her dress with matching satin peep-toe Louboutins. Lovely!

Rating: ★★★½☆

Sophia Bush

Sophia Bush - SAG Awards 2008

Sophia Bush seems to have picked up on Michelle Pfeiffer because she also decided to go with a brown short strapless frock. While the color isn’t one I would’ve chosen for such an event, I quite like the sheeny silhouette of Sophia’s ruched cocktail dress.
