STUNNING. Kerry Washington took my heart by storm in this nude strapless Zuhair Murad fishtail gown. Kerry attended the screening of Coco Chanel & Igor Stravinsky wearing a Spring 2009 design which had a tulle hem and black floral embroideries on the entire dress. Flawless makeup and a gorgeous filigree gold cuff completed Kerry’s ensemble. What a great final impression she made to close the Cannes Film Festival! Brava!

Marchesa is a red carpet favorite among celebrities. No major award show would be complete without at least one celebrity wearing one of the exquisite dresses. Georgina Chapman, one half of the designer duo, does a lot of PR work for Marchesa by wearing her designs only on every public event she attends.

Cécile Cassel attended the Fashion Dinner for Aids on January 29th in Paris being completely decked out in Louis Vuitton. The French actress wore a black Spring 2009 ensemble which consisted of a black blazer, a wide red and orange lace-up belt, a feathered black skirt and the obligatory safari standout heels.
Kerry Washington followed to wear the same basic blazer and skirt ensemble at the 2nd Annual ESSENCE Black Women In Hollywood Luncheon on February 19th in Beverly Hills. Kerry however decided to spice it up a little by adding a gold and silver lace-up belt, an oversized black clutch and animal print wedge pumps to her look.
I honestly think it’s nearly impossible to outdo Kerry here. She was absolute gorgeousness in that LV ensemble. Kerry also accessorized much better and experimented by opting out of wearing head-to-toe Louis Vuitton. The blazer seemed more fitted on her than on Cécile (also the skirt was longer on Cécile) and Kerry looks so happy and confident whereas Cécile seemed to be feeling slightly uneasy. Definite win for Kerry! But who’s your winner?

Actress Kerry Washington was the first to wear this heavily gold embroidered Marchesa Spring 2009 mini dress to the BET Hip Hop Awards on October 18, 2008. She wore the cap sleeved cocktail dress with matching strappy sandals and a beautiful Louis Vuitton clutch.
Georgina Chapman, co-founder of Marchesa, was wearing the same mini dress to the US Presidential Election Party on November 04, 2008 hosted by her husband Harvey Weinstein. Unfortunately, you can’t see how she accessorized except for the chandelier earrings.
Both women look absolutely stunning, but I tend to give this one to Kerry Washington as she decided to go sans jewelry which is IMO the right choice because the dress is busy on its own, so adding jewelry here would’ve been too much.
