Just when I started to get bored with celebrity fashion, my no.1 girl crush Cate Blanchett came out of hiding to hit the red carpet looking outstanding in a modified asymmetrical cobalt blue floor length dress from Armani Privé’s Spring 2009 collection which had a beautiful draping on the left hip and a long tassel hanging down. The Australian actress completed her ensemble with a black patent clutch and gorgeous eggplant satin pumps. LOVE it! Cate = personified elegance.

There’s no way I’m going to pass up on a Cate Blanchett public appearance and not make it my “celebrity look of the day”. My no.1 girl crush has come out of hiding in Australia to attend her favorite designer’s fall 2009 couture fashion show in Paris. And of course she looked once again impeccable! Queen Cate wore a beautiful black pagoda sheath dress from Armani Privé’s Spring 2009 collection which she accessorized with a bejeweled clutch and matching silver sparkling pumps. Oozing perfection from every pore. Oh how we missed you, Cate! ♥ ♥ ♥

Another stunner coming from Megan Fox! This girl finally seems to develop a sense of style that’s not bordering on tacky. I think this is also the first time I’ve seen her wear couture?

At the Moscow premiere for Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, Megan wore a pink strapless Armani Privé brocade dress. It was a modified version as she had the straps removed which I think was a clever choice because that way the dress had a sexier silhouette. Megan also opted out of wearing the belt which I would’ve loved to see her wear, but she probably wanted a clean and simple look. Sleek wavy curls and a pair of gorgeous gold chandelier earrings completed Megan’s sultry look. The only thing driving me mad about this otherwise breathtaking look are the burgundy Christian Louboutin “Bianca” platform pumps. Yes, they do look amazing, but the maroon color really bites with the hot pink.

Finally! The 62nd International Cannes Film Festival 2009 has begun. The Cannes Film Festival is one of the most important red carpet events of the year (feels like the European Oscars). It’s the place where couture gowns are the order of the day. I’m so excited to see who’s going to wear whom and I secretly hope to see someone (Cate, are you with me?) rocking some of the spectacular Christian Dior Spring 2009 couture gowns (♥ ♥ ♥).

For the opening ceremony, it were Shu Qi and Asia Argento who impressed me the most with their dresses. Shu Qi wore a beautiful, flowy teal Valentino Roberto Cavalli strapless gown while Asia settled for a floral printed Armani Privé. And the shoes were just as stunning as the gowns. Shu Qi opted for Giuseppe Zanotti (?!) rosette stilettos and Asia went for the black lace-up runway platforms which are also absolutely to die for. I couldn’t decide on whom I liked more, so I chose both!
