A few days ago I found first shots of the Zara Spring 2009 Ad Campaign with Lara Stone and fell in love with it. Not only the campaign was great, but the clothes were stunning as well. There was clearly some heavy inspiration involved as a lot of the pieces were reminiscent of this year’s Spring 2009 collections (thanks to FC@Red Carpet Fashion Awards for pointing it out). Zara channelled this year’s fashion darlings like Balmain (the first 2 dresses), Alexander Wang (grey/white pants/top ensemble) and Stella McCartney (the nude oversized blazer as previously worn by Amber Valletta).
The shoes were Balmain-esque as well. Rumor says Zara had to remove all of the rhinestone studded sandals from the shelves because they were infringing on another fashion house’s copyright. The nude lace booties remind me of Ann Demeulemeester’s Spring 2009 lace up boots.
I can’t wait to hit my Zara store this week, I’m probably going to buy the whole store empty. My favorites are the lilac draped dress, the LBD and the oversized blazer combo. And the Ann Demeulemeester knockoffs of course! Too cute.

Remember when I featured a white silk dress as dress of the day a few weeks ago? Well, apparently I was not the only one falling for this dress. 4 celebrities has been already spotted wearing this LWD, 3 of which have worn it within 2 weeks.
Michelle Williams was the first to debut this gorgeous white Alexander Wang LWD from his Spring 2009 collection back in October 2008. Michelle wore the dress with a gold bangle and black ankle booties.
4 months later on Feruary 11th, 2009 model Tori Praver wore the same white dress to the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue Launch Party. Tori finished off her look with a pendant necklace, purple clutch and dark grey suede pumps.
Only one week later Marisa Tomei was the third to wear the Alexander Wang LWD to the Children Mending Hearts Gala on February 18th, 2009. The oscar nominated actress wore her dress underneath a black oversized blazer and a pair of to-die-for Alexander McQueen pumps (almost the same as I suggested in my post).
Lindsay Lohan was the last to wear the dress to a Mercedes-Benz Oscar Party in Beverly Hills on February 22nd, 2009. Lohan opted for Christian Louboutin Scarpe Platform Slingbacks to complete her look.
Michelle’s ankle booties were too heavy for the dress and Marisa’s oversized blazer hid too much of the beautiful dress, that’s why I prefer the dress on Tori and Lindsay. LiLo slightly pulls it off better because the dress hugs her curves and the black Louboutin peep-toes are the perfect compliment for the LWD.

I think I have an obsession with the name Alexander. Why, you ask? Because two of my absolute favorite designers are named like that. Of couse, we’re talking about Alexander McQueen and Alexander Wang.
Today, it’s all about Wang and his perfect creation of an LWD (=Little White Dress). He’s the best when it comes to mixing sexy with edgy chic. Wang’s color palette is mostly confined to black and white (and everything in between), but he really owns these colors, so I don’t mind.
This draped silk jersey dress from Wang’s Spring 2009 collection made me instantly swoon. Isn’t it the prettiest little thing of fabric you’ve ever seen? Me loves it.
The dress is currently up for pre-oder at Saks and I’m sure it will go like hot cakes. If you have 600 bucks to spare and there’s still room for a perfect LWD in your closet, grab your chance to infinite glee and buy it!

I would style it like Saks who copied the look from Wang’s runway presentation of the dress. Black chunky heels or a pair of gladiators would be a perfect fit. Finish it off with a black cropped blazer (sleeves rolled up) and you’re set.

As promised, here’s the second part of the Pre-Fall 2009 collections. And this one’s even better than the first. I instantly fell in love with almost every collection I looked at. From Alexander Wang (edgy & sexy) to Nicole Miller (so chic!) to Tory Burch (the accessories!) and of course the unforgettable Versace (the epitome of sexy & fabulous).
