16th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards – Best Dressed

Kate Hudson in Emilio Pucci Spring 2010, Diane Kruger in Jason Wu, Christina Applegate in Roberto Cavalli, Anna Paquin in Alexander McQueen Spring 2010, Lea Michele in Catherine Malandrino Spring 2010, Anna Kendrick in Alberta Ferretti, Marion Cotillard in Elie Saab Fall 2009 Couture & Sandra Bullock in Alexander McQueen at the 2010 SAG Awards

Yesterday at the 2010 SAG Awards I first saw Kate Hudson in her beautiful white backless Emilio Pucci gown and she just blew me away. So much that I almost forgot she had already picked a white gown for the 2010 Golden Globes last week. But she looked too angelic for me to bother.

Diane Kruger is always so flawless it’s almost boring! For me, she was the best dressed last night in her mustard fitted off-the-shoulder Jason Wu gown. Her dress instantly reminded me of Michelle Williams Vera Wang gown at the Oscars in 2006. No one can do old Hollywood glamour like Diane. Perfection!

Christina Applegate is always hit and miss on the red carpet, but on this ocassion she was simply breath-taking in a gorgeous dusty blue Roberto Cavalli chiffon gown. Perfectly accessorized, Christina was definitely among my top 3 for best dressed last night.

Anna Paquin was one of the few who rather opted for a short frock. Her printed plunge neck dress was from Alexander McQueen’s spectacular Spring 2010 collection and Anna did the dress more than justice.

I always love to see green on the red carpet, it’s such a flattering yet underappreciated color! Fortunately, Lea Michele was brave enough to don this emerald green plunge neck column gown by Catherine Malandrino. Simply stunning!

Anna Kendrick wore a fuchsia strapless Alberta Ferretti ruffle gown. She may be new to the red carpet game, but she’s already acting like a pro. Love it!

Isn’t it refreshing to see Marion Cotillard in something other than Dior? Don’t get me wrong, I love Christian Dior as much as anybody else, but over time Marion’s red carpet looks became stale and predictable. I was hoping for a sexier look this time and it seems like the fashion gods answered my prayers. Marion’s white crystal embellished feathered frock from Elie Saab’s Fall 2009 Couture collection was a mixture of diva meets revue dancer. Magnifique, Marion!

Sandra Bullock‘s dress choice was more understated than her purple stand-out gown at the Globes, but that didn’t stop her from being once again a stunner in a black keyhole Alexander McQueen gown looking all classy and statuesque.

Who was the best dressed at the 2010 SAG Awards?

Bar Rafaeli

Bar Rafaeli in an Alberta Ferreti Dress at the 61st Cannes Film Festival 2008

Bar Rafaeli looks stunning wearing Alberta Ferreti. But would you expect anything less from a supermodel like her?

Bar sure knows how to strike that sexy over-the-shoulder pose. Leo must be a lucky man.

Rating: ★★★★☆

Cate Blanchett

Cate Blanchett in a blush Armani Privé Spring 2008 Couture gown at the 61st Cannes Film Festival 2008

Cate Blanchett was the epitome of glamour in this blush ruffled silk gown accessorized with Chopard gems.

No one could live up to Cate’s perfection, she was by far the best dressed on the red carpet making the rest of the ladies look like absolute fashion rookies. totally deserved. ♥ ♥ ♥

Rating: ★★★★★

Devon Aoki

Devon Aoki in an Alberta Ferretti silver sequined dress at the 61st Cannes Film Festival 2008

Devon Aoki is also wearing Alberta Ferretti. The ombré silver sequined strapless dress looks great, but Devon somehow does not wear it with the confidence needed to pull it off.

The hair is another no-no for me, that hairdo is so pageant/prom cliché.

Rating: ★★½☆☆

Eva Longoria

Eva Longoria in an azur blue Atelier Versace gown at the 61st Cannes Film Festival 2008

Eva Longoria looks flawless as usual wearing a gorgeous azure dress which she complimented with Van Cleef & Arpels jewelry.

I love the dress and the color is simply stunning, but I don’t think the dress works towards Eva’s body type. I prefer seeing Eva in cocktail-type frocks.

Rating: ★★★½☆

Julianne Moore

Julianne Moore in a Christian Lacroix Spring 2008 Couture gown at the 61st Cannes Film Festival 2008

Blindness actress Julianne Moore went for big drama in a canary yellow gown. Unfortunately, the risk didn’t pay off. There’s too much going on on the dress. The black and yellow feathered detail is the worst thing about it. It reminds me of stuffed animals being pinned to her shoulders.

But to be fair, I think no one could’ve done that dress justice. At least not on the red carpet. This dress was made for catwalks and editorial photoshoots.

Julianne’s accessories however were exquisite. The actress finalized her risqué ensemble with a black Bottega Veneta knot clutch and beautiful Chopard diamonds.

Rating: ★½☆☆☆

Mischa Barton

Mischa Barton in an Alberta Ferretti Fall 2008 dress at the 61st Cannes Film Festival 2008

Mischa Barton walked the red carpet in a midnight blue gown and a Chopard diamond necklace. The one-shouldered dress was a decent choice, but nothing overly spectacular.

Rating: ★★★☆☆

Natalie Portman

Natalie Portman in a lilac Lanvin Spring 2008 dress at the 61st Cannes Film Festival 2008

Natalie Portman was a serious breath-taker in her purple ruffled cocktail dress. She accessorized her dress with diamonds from Tiffany & Co, a black belt, round black patent pumps, a black XL clutch and black nail polish.

I’m not too fond of the dress per se, but I am totally smitten with the striking color and Natalie just pulls it off with her radiating beauty. Plus, I’m loving her hair ♥
