Kate Bosworth – Red Carpet Fashion Year 2007

2007 is coming to an end. And it’s been a great year in terms of fashion for actress and fulltime cutie Kate Bosworth. She was consisently looking good on the red carpet and often had her finger on the pulse of the latest fashion trends.
We documented Kate’s 2007 red carpet appearances and analyzed what’s been fab or fugly.
April 23, 2007 – Food Bank of New York Can-Do Awards Dinner, New York

Rating:

After making headlines for being frightfully skinny in 2006, a much healthier looking Kate was stepping into the limelight again at the Food Bank of New York Can-Do Awards Dinner in April, glowing in a pleated Jade silk chiffon halter dress from the Chloé Spring 2007 collection which she accentuated with an embellished velvet belt.
I really, really like the dress and Kate’s hair, but I’m not so sure about the black pumps and the bromberry lips. The lipstick is darkening her otherwise bright appearance.
April 28, 2007 – Duo Grand Opening at Four Seasons Maui, Hawaii

Rating:

Kate manages to look effortlessly chic at the Duo Grand Opening at the Four Seasons. I love how her sunkissed skin glows against her black attire.
The red polished toe nails peeking out of the black peep toe pumps are a plus in my book!
May 07, 2007 – Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute Gala, New York

Rating:

Kate was rocking the red carpet being a beautiful GlamQueen with blonde pin curls, irresistible bromberry lips and a puffball-skirted champagne-colored satin gown by Prada. She accessorized her glamourous ensemble with some exquisite Fred Leighton jewelry.
I absolutely adore Kate’s silver plateau Mary Janes with the gold tip. Anyone knows the designer?
June 04, 2007 – CFDA Fashion Awards, New York

Rating:

At this year’s CFDA Fashion Awards, Kate aged about 50 years sporting a hideous knee-length feathery Proenza Schouler frock looking very much like an old lady. Shoes = Me not likey. What was Kate thinking?
June 06, 2007 – 5th Annual Art Party, New York

Rating:

Kate makes up for her CFDA disaster by looking absolutely stunning in this salmon strapless Hervé Léger bandage dress. Almost everything about her ensemble is adorable.
Nude pumps would’ve been a better shoe choice, but Kate makes it work even with the black stilettos.
August 08, 2007 – “The 11th Hour” LA Premiere, Los Angeles

Rating:

Kate was a striking beauty in this gorgeous ivory one-shoulder Jil Sander Fall 2007 dress at the Los Angeles Premiere of Leonardo DiCaprio’s documentary “The 11th Hour” back in August.
I especially love Kate’s do and make up here – minimalistic, fresh and youthful. Gorgeous!
September 05, 2007 – Rag & Bone’s Runway Show, New York Fashion Week

Rating:

While attending the runway show of Rag & Bone during the New York Fashion Week, Kate showed she is no stranger to fashion looking all fab in a tuxedo-inspired 3.1 Phillip Lim blazer, a white tucked in shirt, black denim skinny jeans and a pair of gorgeous black patent Christian Louboutin Lapano Loafer Booties.
Kate was one of the early adopters of the masculine-is-sexy trend which is so hot right now. Love the androgynous look, Kate pulls it off with the needed confidence.
September 09, 2007 – “The Girl In The Park” World Premiere, Toronto Film Festival

Rating:

Yet another breathtaker! Kate was pretty in Preen…ehm, pink wearing a loud pink pocket dress from the Preen Fall 2007 collection and killer heels in midnight blue. A perfect ten, Kate!
October 15, 2007 – Elle’s 14th Annual Women in Hollywood Party, Los Angeles

Rating:

Kate was sporting a sophisticated elegant look at the 14th Annual Women in Hollywood Party by wearing an ivory knee-length dress by Lanvin. Though it has a nice color which compliments Kate’s great skin tone, I’m not feeling it whereas I totally fall for this uber-hot necklace and the pale pink satin pumps she chose to wear with the dress.
October 18, 2007 – Private Dinner Hosted By Fendi, Beijing

Rating:

Kate opted for an out-of-bed style wearing a white sleeveless Fendi dress with a black tie picking up the masculine trend again. She perfectly counterbalanced her look with a pair of feminine gold strappy sandals.
October 19, 2007 – Fendi Fashion Show on the Great Wall of China, Beijing

Rating:

Kate is not to be overlooked in this risqué Fendi Fall 2007 black and white hairy coat which she paired with black shorts and black tights to the Fendi Fashion Show on the Great Wall of China back in October.
November 13, 2007 – Vacheron Constantin Watch Launch Honoring Clive Davis, New York

Rating:

Kate seemed to be freezing in her multi-colored Etro Spring 2008 pattern dress that’s why she paired it with a pair of black boots, tights and a multi-colored patterned scarf.
I’m not a big fan of ethno prints, but surprisingly I like it after having seen it on Kate. She still needs to convince me on the boho scarf though.
November 15, 2007 – 7th on Sale Black-tie Gala Dinner, New York

Rating:

At the 7th on Sale Black-tie Gala Dinner in November Kate chose to go with Proenza Schouler again, wearing an unusual one-shouldered oxblood red dress from the Spring 2008 collection which I’m not loving at all.
The dress looks ill-fitted and the irregular lines, the folding and the contrasting feather cap sleeve is simply not working for Kate. Not loving the shoes either.
Summary
As you can see Kate had rather hits than misses in 2007 and was overall a stunning red carpet queen. Since we love Kate’s sense of style, we hope to see her conquer the red carpets in 2008 (so we can copy her at home…). What was your favorite Kate Bosworth red carpet appearance?
BTW: If I was to make a wish, I’d wish that Kate would go more often for the sexy side sporting some kinky dresses and dramatic smokey eyes next year. Cross your fingers and let’s hope the best.

Too bad money can’t buy you taste. Rexi Bonesworth is an icon of fashion at its most hideous.
