I will never forget how Gwyneth Paltrow rocked this ultra sexy black lace micro mini dress from Balmain last year at the UK premiere of Iron Man which she wore with a black tuxedo jacket and matching black satin Alexander McQueen sky-high square toe pumps. Gwyneth’s look was perfection and probably one of her greatest looks to date if not the best.
Nina Morić, a Croatian model, opted for the same Balmain number when she attended the 2009 Campari Calendar Launch on December 2, 2008 in Milan. I know the dress is supposed to be a micro mini, but Nina’s dress appeared to be even shorter than Gwyneth’s or the runway version making her look slightly hooker-ish. The fact that she added black fingerless biker gloves à la Karl didn’t help either.
We all may envy both women for their incredibly long and fit legs which indeed deserve to be showed off. However, Nina totally failed to make this LBD work for her. Even though it’s the same dress, both looks are worlds apart in terms of class and attitude. Nina doesn’t even come close. No competition for Gwyneth at all. Do you agree?

I absolutely love this dress and wouldn’t mind having it in my closet one bit! Gwyneth def rox the dress and Nina Moric not so much. I agree with you about how the dress differ in each image. Love your blog!!
nina was formerly one of the world’s most beautiful women (see ricky martin’s livin’ la vida loca video), but sadly she has succumbed to the dark side of plastic surgery. obviously gweneth wore it better, but they have better stylists in north america/the uk.
