I haven’t awarded a Red Carpet Gold Star for quite some time now. While there were many red carpet appearance that I liked or even loved, none of them really made me go WOW! – the little extra something was always missing. Penélope Cruz however really stunned me today and rightfully deserves to be crowned. The Spanish actress attended the London premiere of Broken Embraces looking ravishing in red in a double-breasted red Bottega Veneta Resort 2010 suit. You know you love it when you can’t stop staring.
What impressed me even more about Penélope’s look is that she could’ve easily called one of her designer friends and choose a $10k couture gown, but instead she opted for this almost casual suit and _still_ knocked it out of the fashion ball park. Her grace and attitude were what made this look so outstanding.
P.S.: Love the shoes as well and that’s coming from someone who usually hates everyting t-strap.

I always look forward to seeing Rose Byrne on the red carpet. She has a natural elegance to her and this elegance also reflects on her dress choices. For the screening of Adam in New York yesterday, Rose once more turned to Christian Cota and once again opted for a design from his Fall 2008 collection.
Last time she wore a maroon feathered frock. This time it was a blue textured high-necked mid-length dress with structured shoulders. Rose finished off her look with black patent Brian Atwood pumps and a silver Max Azria clutch. Such an underrated red carpet maven!

Diane Kruger is currently doing a promo tour for Tarantino’s latest film Inglourious Basterds. For the London premiere last week, Diane wore a black strapless Balmain number and for the Germany premiere she opted for a nude Hervé Léger dress from the Resort 2010 collection. It was a very feminine look – from the hair to the red lips down to the cute strappy sandals. Diane’s look was completed with minimal jewelry and a matching silver Alexander McQueen skull box clutch.
I like that she always keeps things interesting by changing themes on the red carpet. Which designer will be the next on her list?

Rihanna has been parading around a lot of Alexander Wang designs lately. Back in May she wore a black one shoulder dress from his Pre-Fall 2009 collection at the Studio Valbonne Club in London. The singer completed her edgy ensemble with black Giuseppe Zanotti Glitter Ankle Boots ($695).
A few days ago Nicky Hilton attended the MTV screening of Paris, Not France in Los Angeles to support her sister Paris wearing the same Alexander Wang LBD. However, Nicky glammed it up with emerald drop earrings and a pair of delicate Christian Louboutin Paola Pumps ($815).
This one’s pretty easy for me. NICKY all the way because a) I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE her stunning emerald green drop earrings and b) because Rihanna is really annoying me lately with her trying-too-hard-to-be-edgy attitude lately. Whom do you prefer in the LBD?

Sometimes the simplest look can make the greatest impact. Sienna Miller is one to look flawless in the plainest cloths ever like a grey tank top while other celebrities have to turn to couture gowns to look halfway decent. Even rain can’t ruin Sienna’s casual-yet-fabulous look. The actress attended a photocall for G.I. Joe: The Rise Of Cobra in Berlin a few days ago looking adorable in a Kain Label pocket tank, black tapered pants, a printed scarf and green suede Chloé Fall 2009 pumps.
